About the Role (Delivery Service Partner): This is a unique opportunity to launch your logistics career. You will be working as a Delivery Driver for a local Delivery Service Partner (DSP), an independent business that partners with Amazon. As a DSP Driver, you are the face of Amazon, responsible for the critical 'last-mile' delivery of packages. You'll be operating a state-of-the-art, Amazon-branded delivery van and using advanced handheld technology to navigate your route and deliver smiles to customers. We are looking for reliable, safety-focused, and customer-obsessed individuals to join our team in the Austin, TX area. This is an 'entry-level' position where 'no experience' in delivery is required. We provide a comprehensive, paid training program that fully prepares you to be a safe and efficient delivery professional. Your New Career – The Role: As a DSP Delivery Driver, your primary responsibility is to safely and accurately deliver a high volume of Amazon packages to residential and commercial locations. This is a physically active, fast-paced job that requires independence and a strong work ethic. You are a problem-solver on the road, managing customer interactions, navigating routes, and handling the challenges of daily delivery. This is a full-time role, typically structured as four 10-hour shifts per week, which means you get three days off. You must be available to work 'weekend shift' rotations and holidays, as we deliver 7 days a week. The Training – Your Foundation for Success: Your career begins with a multi-day, paid training program that is a mix of classroom learning and on-road experience. 'No experience' is needed. Our program covers: * **Vehicle & Safety Training:** You will be trained to safely operate our high-roof cargo vans, including vehicle inspections (pre- and post-trip), defensive driving techniques, and safe parking/backing procedures. * **Technology Training:** You'll master the handheld 'Rabbit' device, which provides your route, navigation, package scanning, and customer delivery instructions. * **Delivery & Customer Service:** You will learn the 'last-mile' process: how to load your van efficiently, manage your packages, follow customer delivery notes (e.g., 'leave on back porch'), and handle any delivery issues with a professional, customer-first attitude. * **On-the-Road Experience:** You will ride along with an experienced driver and then be observed on your own route to ensure you are confident and proficient. A Day in the Life – What to Expect: Your 'workday' (a 'day shift') is structured and active: * **Morning (Load-Out):** You'll arrive at the local Amazon Delivery Station, check in with your DSP team, and perform a pre-trip inspection of your assigned van. You'll then proceed to the loading bays, where you will load your van with packages for your route, organizing them according to your handheld device's instructions. This is a fast-paced, 15-20 minute process. * **On the Road (Delivery):** For the next 8-10 hours, you will be on your own, following the route provided by your 'Rabbit' device. You will be exiting and entering the van frequently (up to 200+ times per day) to deliver packages. This is a highly physical job; you will be walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and climbing stairs in all weather conditions. * **Problem-Solving:** You will manage any on-road challenges, such as finding difficult addresses, navigating apartment complexes, or contacting customers or dispatch for support if you run into an issue. * **End of Shift (Check-In):** After completing your last delivery, you'll return to the Delivery Station. You'll drop off any undelivered packages, return your handheld device, and complete a post-trip vehicle inspection. You'll check out with your DSP, and your day is done. The Lifestyle – Schedule & Environment: This is not a desk job. You will be working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). The typical schedule is four 10-hour 'day shift' schedules per week, such as 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM. A 'weekend shift' (Saturday or Sunday) is almost always required. This schedule provides three days off per week, offering a great work-life balance for those who enjoy a compressed workweek. Why a DSP? Working for an Amazon DSP means you get the best of both worlds: the stability and advanced technology of Amazon, combined with the personal, team-oriented culture of a small business. Your manager knows you by name and is dedicated to your success. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits (which Amazon itself does not offer to 'gig' drivers), and opportunities for advancement into lead driver or dispatcher roles. This is a chance to build a real career in the booming logistics industry.
